Pest control against rodents is a complex of methods for destruction of harmful rodents. Rodents belong to the Rodentia class, as the name derives from the Latin word ‘rodere’ - nibble. This is what distinguishes this species from the others – they chew their food with large upper and lower incisors. Their incisors don’t have roots and grow throughout their entire life although due to chewing they are filing down and wearing out. When they can’t find solid food to sharpen them, they nibble other hard objects. Rodents have a very strong smell and hearing and can navigate quite well in space. Their vision is very well developed so that they can see in different colors. They are good climbers and swimmers too. Most of them have neophobia - fear of the unknown, so that they rarely feed on new unfamiliar food and shunning it until they bring over to its safety. Therefore pest control against rodents activities must be performed very carefully and their effectiveness should be monitored.
